Dongsuk Choi is Chief Executive Officer of EastBridge. Prior to EastBridge, he served as the head of Korea investment banking division at Goldman Sachs since 2014, leading business development and transaction executions in various industries such as consumer retail, finance, industrial, etc. Selected M&A Transactions during his 15-year tenure at Goldman Sachs are as follow:
Sell-side advisor to Goldman Sachs PIA and Daesung Group Partners for their sale of 100% stake in Daesung Industrial Gases to MBK Partners for $2.0bn; Sell-side advisor to Affinity Equity Partners for its sale of 100% stake in Hi-mart to Eugene Corporation for $2.2bn; Sell-side advisor to KorAm Bank for its $2.6bn sale to Citigroup via the sale of the Carlyle Group; Sell-side advisor to Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai Capital Services for GE Consumer Finance’s $995mn investment for 43% stake in Hyundai Capital Services to form a joint venture with Hyundai Motor Company; Sell-side advisor to Coca Cola Amatil for its sale of 100% stake in Coca Cola Korea Bottling Company to LG Household and Healthcare for $440mn; Buy-side advisor to Temasek Holdings for its 9.68% stake acquisition in Hana Bank for approximately $400mn; and Buy-side advisor to H&Q AP Korea – ESOP consortium’s 28.1% stake acquisition in Korea Petrochemical Industrial Company for $107mn
Dongsuk started his career at SK Chemicals, where he was a member of li-ion battery manufacturing division and new business development team, participating in setting up of new Li-ion battery manufacturing plant and designing post-merger implementation plan for acquiring a battery R&D organization from Taeil Media.
Dongsuk received an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Chemistry from Seoul National University with concentrations in electrochemistry and analytical chemistry
